My consultancy
and decorating practice has been established as a result of my formal study,
work and experience, over some 18 years, in three different but overlapping
areas - Color Colour and Design, Interior Decorating and more recently the
art of Feng Shui.
My philosophy directs that I work on a project answering the fundamental
need for individuals to integrate as harmoniously as posssible with their living
or working environment, in order that the greatest enjoyment from beauty of
character, health, wealth and happiness is achieved.
As your consultant I aim to meet your needs in assisting you to achieve
the environment you desire. I can help you explore your ideas further or develop
an unexpected and exciting concept in colours or decorating design.
I love home styling projects, a reasonably new approach and investment
for owners wishing to sell their property. Here I often find all the ingredients
of great potential. With a little clever creativity and rearrangement homes
blossom.
My business extends to both residential and commercial projects. Homes
range from many located on the northern beaches of Sydney to Mosman, Coogee,
Balmain and Glebe. Commercial projects of note are laws firms in Dee Why and
Blacktown, reception/foyers of apartments, a new large office warehouse space
in Rosebery and a ski lodge in Perisher.

COST: $140 FOR ONE HOUR OR PART THEREOF.
In my personal life I have been a practitioner of western astrology for many, many, years. It seemed only natural that once the Chinese art of Feng Shui hit our shores a few years ago I would add it to my "bag of expertise".
I was particularly interested in the area of feng shui which relates to room and space harmony. I studied this area with a Canadian Master and have followed up with a wealth of written material. There are various ways feng shui can be studied in relation to the home or office building. From the observation of Form School and the imaginary bagua floor plan to a full consultation in "flying stars", I can offer the wonderful practice of feng shui in surveying your space.
Depending on the degree of the formal survey and report my fee ranges from $240 to $500. I would be happy to discuss the possibilities and benefits.
Of course having such an interest in this eastern philosophy, as a matter of practice, I incorporate elements of it in my everyday decorating and colour consultancy.
In all areas of my work "colour" is the thread which weaves it’s way through all aspects of my work. I literally spent two years of part-time study in defining and delineating colour, developing and working with it and incorporating it in a broad base area of design.
An "eye for colour" is a fundamental ability in talented decorating and understanding the psychology of colour plays an important part in choosing appropriate colour schemes.
Colour certainly relates to specific areas of Western Astrology and I found coincidences and new ideas of appreciation of colour after studying Feng Shui.
My colour consultancy side of business is active and growing, the majority of enquiries of which come from referral.
In decorating and schematic design it is interesting to see how areas of Sydney have their own particular taste for colour. Wonderfully where I live on the northern beaches, clients love the essence of rich colour. As I work closer to Sydney city and the lower north shore, the mood of colour changes to subtle sophistication. Whatever the appreciation of colour I love to work with it, especially harmonies

on all or 3 major rooms of the home, a furniture & furnishings hire service
and styling fit-out.
A
well chosen hired selection with personal styling which allows owners to best
show off their home using up-to-the-minute furniture & furnishings including
artwork, rugs & art objects. Most suitable for auctions, ex-rental homes
or homes which need a few important areas improved in order to show off a home’s
living potential.
Cost:
Furniture over four weeks $1800 to $3500 inclusive of delivery, insurance
& pickup costs plus Stylist’s costs inclusive of props as per quotation
All window treatments, new and re-upholstered furniture, soft furnishings and accessories, colour schemes and floor covering advice.
As your decorating consultant my aim is to assist you in achieving the environment most comfortable and beautifully nurturing to YOU. With practical application and budget considerations in mind, I ultilise my experience and expertise to help you arrive at the desired outcome. Often I have discovered that clients previously spent time and money for a “look” only to discover later that it still doesn’t feel right. I love it when clients say”that’s exactly what I wanted but I had not idea how to get it”.
This proves to be a popular method when renovating or refurbishing a space. As part of seeing an entire concept evolve I am happy to prepare and submit colour boards for presentation to my clients. This not only allows my clients to appreciate the concept direction as a whole but finishes of all sorts are selected. A full specification accompanies the conceptual colour boards. The client is then able to follow through with their own arrangements or enlist my services to complete the project.As a colour and design consultant I am often required to tie together a scheme for owner/builder clients who may need colour direction and overall finishes. In other words a plan, not only for buildings and rooms, but the interior design and style. As with schematic design I can offer conceptual colour boards and/or specifications.
In addition I have worked with several owner/builder clients who simply need assistance in making several and varied selections. It often proves a somewhat daunting and stressful task planning everything from architectural detail to taps, lights, colours etc. yet a great sense of satisfaction and accomplishment is enjoyed. I am happy to work with you as a sounding board or de-stress organiser in part. I can do a little or as much as you feel you need with my help.

REFURBISHMENT
General
decorating & improvements throughout focussing on key selling points of the
home.
Refurbishment
costs are a good investment towards an improved selling price over & above the
initial outlay. After the initial survey and assessment suggested refurbishment
will be discussed with consideration of budget constraints. Refurbishing may
include some, or all, painting, furniture assistance and/or possible hire, floor
covering, retiling, entry improvements, general enhancement and overall styling.
Cost:
as per quotation for refurbishment work plus styling fee between $700-2000.
The materials change from time to time but I prefer to work with pure shantung silk and Chinese silk brocades. I hand stencil good fortune symbols and add gold adornments to specific cure features.
Although a standard range exists I vary and create to individual taste, usually custom-made to order. I would be happy to discuss the possibilities or simply provide you with one of my favourites.
SIMPLE
& EASY HOME ENHANCEMENT
An
effective and quick method when selling a home, taking advantage of existing
furniture & furnishings.
After an initial survey and assessment an outline of planned improvements
will be offered & discussed. This might involve rearrangement of furniture
pieces and accessories in order to create the best room harmonies throughout.
I will then attend on a day to make-over the residence. I am happy to provide
"props" for a minimum four week period as part of my fee.
Cost: Enhancing with client’s props etc. $700-1200.
Enhancing with Stylist’s $1,000 - $2,000 by quote.
